·         A reminder to all JR Football players of your team banquet this Wednesday Dec 11th in the cafeteria.  Although the banquet will run from 3:30 – 5:30 all those players who have still not returned their CLEAN equipment will be able to do so before the banquet starts.  If you are unable to attend speak to one of the coaches before Wednesday.

·         Did you know there are more than 121 million children who don’t have an education in developing countries?  And more than 75 million that don’t have a chance to attend elementary school?  Free the Children is reaching out to you OT to help create change by bringing in change to your period 5 class to raise money to build schools in developing countries.  Remember the class who raises the most money wins a pizza party.

·         Are you interested in our French Immersion Program?  Have you earned Heritage language credits or speak another language?  Are you studying music and music theory?  Do you desire to enhance your academic studies or challenge your knowledge against 1st year university material?  If you answered yes to one or more of these questions you should consider writing the Advanced Placement Exams in May.  A score of 4 or 5 on the AP could earn you a university credit or advanced standing or both.  See guidance for further information.

·         Congrats to the varsity boys basketball team on their impressive win at our tournament last Friday.  The team went undefeated in in all 3 games.

·         Congrats to both OT Intermediate reach teams for a fine performance on Friday.  Special mention goes to our first team who scored the highest number of points at the tournament.  See you at practice on Wednesday after school.

·         All students in grades 9, 11 and 12 need to have the IPP completed by Wednesday.  Complete your IPP in MyBlueprint, fill in the Activity Sheet, get your parents to sign it and return it to your period 1 teacher by Thursday morning at the latest.  IPP Activity Sheets were handed out in classes and e-mailed to parents.  If you have misplaced yours come to guidance.

·         Rebecca’s Gift Drive continues this week.  You have until this Thursday, December 12th to donate items like gift cards, clothing or electronics to the Halton Children’s Aid to allow every child to wake up to something this Christmas.  For suggestions on donations see our posters around the school or check out the RDC office where donations will be accepted periods 3 & 4.
