·         Could you be the next Hemingway?  You’ll never know unless you try.  The OT writing contest will accept submissions from all levels of writing.  So pick up a pen and let your imagination do the writing.  You have until Monday May 23rd to submit your poems or short stories so check out the posters around the school for more information.

·         Do you want to have the chance to win a jar full of candy?  Then you should go visit the water project table during 4th period lunch to guess how many kisses there are in the jar.  The closest guess wins the jar.  It only costs $1 and all the money goes to building wells for people who walk miles to get dirty water each day.

·         Last Friday the girls’ soccer team hosted the 16th annual Halton Cup at Shell Park.  The girls won their first 3 games without giving up a goal putting them in the finals for the 7th straight time. They won the silver medal with a 2-1 loss against Loyola.

·         A reminder that the last Math Club meeting before the school contest is today after school.

·         Need Volunteer hours?  Sign up in the main office for the James W Hill Spring Fair and Barbecue.  Volunteers needed May 24th from 9 – 3.

·         We are pleased to announce that Mr Paul Fulford will be coming to OT Thursday May 15th to talk to our students about Space Exploration Robotics and the plans to put people on Mars in the 2030’s.  This talk is for anyone interested in engineering, science, technology, math or simply in the wonders of space exploration.  It will take place in the theatre after school and will last about an hour.
