·         Attention grade 12 physics students writing the Sir Isaac Newton Contest, the test is being written in room 221 during period 3 &4 this Thursday.

 

·         This past Friday the varsity girls’ soccer team traveled to Ancaster to participate in the Royals Invitational.  Despite only fielding 11 players all tournament the Devils played hard and lost some close games. The last game of the tournament was an over- time penalty shot loss to St Mary’s of Hamilton.

 

·         Hey Relayers!  Don’t forget to visit the Devil’s Pit during your lunch to decorate your luminary for Relay for Life.  For every extra $5 luminary your team gets bonus points and a chance to be a dream team.  You can also submit pictures, pieces of art, poems or the reason you relay at the same time for the wall of hope.

 

·         AP Calculus Exam- tomorrow- Calculus students writing the AP Exam please arrive no later than 7:40 to room 195 with appropriate calculator, # 2 pencil and blue or black pen.  See Mrs O’Hara with any questions.

 

·         Students interested in participating in the OT Math Contest please sign up by the Math and Science office.  The contest is on Thursday May 14th in room 216 after school.  There are three members to a team either in the junior or senior category.  For the teams that qualify the Halton Math Contest will be held on May 21st at WOSS from 4:00 to 8:00.

 

·         This is Mental Health Awareness week!  We will be talking about the importance of being healthy not just in our bodies but in our brains.  So this week focus on turning your blue days green.

 

·         Senior tennis practice is cancelled today.

 

·         Red Devil Council needs you!  Forms are now available in the office for candidates for next year’s student council.  Come in right away and pick one up.  Elections will be held on May 13th during Springfest.

 

·         Need volunteer hours?  James W. Hill Public School is holding their Spring Fair on Saturday May 23rd and is looking for volunteers from 9-3.  Sign up at the main office.

 

·         On Saturday April 25th Nepal was stuck by an earthquake of 7.9 magnitude.  Thousands of people died, countless are injured or homeless without food or basic necessities.  On Thursday May 7th wear red in support of Red Cross.  OTHS will be hosting a spirit day with clubs selling food, henna and a banner to sign during 3rd and 4th lunch.  Bring your cash donations and help the people of Nepal.

 

·         Congratulations to Sommer Chou on her 3rd place finish in A Flight at the OFSAA Badminton tournament held over the weekend. 

 

·         All Badminton players stay tuned for an announcement for Badminton Spirit wear will be coming.
