·         It’s Tuesday which means Board Game Club is back!  Period 4 in room 225.  Come play some cool games with cool people.

 

·         Spring is here and Prom is coming.  Are you a grade 12 student and looking for the perfect dress or suit to wear to prom?  Come to any one of the Fashion Forward open houses and select a formal dress or suit for your prom…for free.  Just remember to bring your student ID.  Open houses are from 3:00 – 6:30 on the following dates;

 

April 7th at Garth Webb Secondary School

April 9th at Acton High School

April 14th at Robert Bateman High School

April 16th at Craig Kielburger

 

·         This past weekend our junior boys hockey team traveled to Burlington to participate in the Burlington Cup.  The team played well and earned themselves a second place rating with wins over St Mary’s and Christ the King.  However the boys lost to Abbey Park in the semi-finals which ended their bid for the Championship.

 

·         Reminder for those interested in the track team; hand in your medical form to Ms Tan in the Math/Science office.  Practice schedules can be picked up in front of room 213.  Practices start next week.

 

·         Do you like food?  Do you like being a good person?  Then come down to the atrium periods 3 & 4 today to buy some donuts, cupcakes and more.  For every $1.50 fundraised one tree will be planted.

 

·         On April 15th Right to Play will be hosting a dodgeball tournament during periods 3 & 4.  Sign up for teams will be available in the atrium both lunch periods starting today.  The cost is only $5.00 a person with 5 members per team.

 

·         Tomorrow is the International Day of Pink!  Wear pink to show your support for anti- homophobia, transphobia, bullying and discrimination.

 

·         Did you know that women account for 70% of the population living in absolute poverty worldwide?  Come to the atrium periods 4 tomorrow to support women’s rights.  Answer a question and make a donation of at least 1.25 to receive a delicious cupcake.  All proceeds go to Oxfam Canada.

 

·         Relay for Life team captains; make sure you come and pick up your registration forms in the atrium during lunch today.  The early bird $15 registration starts tomorrow in the Devil’s Pit and continues until next Monday.  After that you have until Friday to bring back your filled out forms with a  $20 per person registration fee.  Once you hand in your whole team’s package you will receive pledge forms to start collecting your $100 per person minimum.  Keep in mind that this is only a minimum and the more your team raises the higher chance to be the dream team.
