  • Did you know that this month is International Walk to School Month?  As the crisp fall weather rolls in the environmental club would like to challenge everyone to walk, skate, bike or board to school at least once each week this month.  Stay green OT!

 

  • This is a reminder for the Cross Country team of the meet in Hamilton tomorrow.  We meet in the atrium at 8:15.

 

  • Feeling blue?  Try black and red instead!  Pick up an order for the OT school spirit wear at the Devil’s Pit.  See samples and try on sizes.  Orders are due Oct 15th for delivery in November.

 

  • So what happens to all that material we’ve collected in the GreenCart?  It gets taken to a facility in Hamilton, where it is composted over several months into a valuable soil conditioner. This fertilizer goes back to the earth for agricultural use and large landscaping projects.

 

  • Today is the last day RDC will be accepting grade rep posters.  Please drop your posters off to the RDC office by lunch today.  If you’ve dropped off your posters over the last few days come by and pick them up so you can hang them up. Elections will take place Thursday during period 2.  Reps will be announced by the end of the day Thurs.

 

  • The junior field hockey team played 2 games yesterday against Loyola and Holy Trinity. Congrats on both wins!

 

  • The guidance dept is looking for paid student tutors.  If you are in grade 11 or 12 with strong marks in one or more subjects come to the guidance office to pick up a tutor application form.  Completed forms are due back to guidance by the end of the day tomorrow.

 

  • If you are thinking about joining the Duke of Ed Award club this year we need your $ 30.00 to guidance by Wed Oct 17th. Students involved in Duke of Ed last year must come to guidance to confirm your participation and submit the $10.00 renewal fee.

 

  • Attention all DECA members we will be having an emergency DECA meeting today at 3 in room 232.  The meeting is brief but all members are asked to attend.

 

  • Wellness Council Facebook group is now working!  The name is posted on the board just above the main stairs

 

  • In the spirit of Thanksgiving starting today, any non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the booth by the office periods 3 & 4 to be sent to a local food bank.
