·         A representative from Lattitude Global Volunteering will be here period 3 & 4 today in the atrium to give out information and answer questions.


·         There will be an EveryChildNow Club meeting today in room 234.  Committee heads and members must be present.


·         It’s Thursday which means Board Game Club is back,  periods 3 & 4 in room 195.


·         Can the members of the girls rugby 7’s team please meet in the staff room at 2:30 today.


·         Attention all grade 9 students interested in going with Link Crew Leaders to a private showing of the movie “ Justice League”.  Deadline for payment and permission forms is Monday.  Please bring all permission forms to the office by the end of the day Monday.


·         Attention grade 11 and 12’s:  Formal tickets are now available on Cashless.  This year’s theme will be NYC Skyline on December 7th at Le Dome.


·         Debate Club:  Pairings for Regional tryouts have been posted outside classroom 118, please check so you can prep with your partner over the weekend.  Reminder there is no practice on Monday due to tryouts.

·         Do  you love science?  Do you want to go into the field of physics?  Do you want extra help for your biology project?  Do you want to get a better mark in chemistry class?  If so, come to the Science Club next Tuesday ( 28th) after school in room 223.


·         The Model UN Club will be meeting today after school in Mr Groen’s room.  All members, not just those who attended SSUNS are welcome.


·         There will be a Book Club meeting today after school in the Library, new members are welcome.


·         Attention grade 11 and 12’s:  Formal tickets are now available on Cashless.  This year’s theme will be NYC Skyline on December 7th at Le Dome.


·         Attention all Grads:  would you like to design the grad hoodies this year?  We  are accepting designs until Friday Nov 24th  and the winner will get the hoodie for free.  Please check the posters around the school for further details.


·         Thank you to all that donated their canned goods and batteries for the We Scare Hunger Food and Battery Drive.  As a school we have collected 776 canned goods and 3136 batteries.


·         Attention DECA:  Your regional time cards will be available for pick up at the meeting after school today.  You need this to be available to compete on Friday.

·         Are you a grade 12 student that is applying to college this year?  Come to a college application information session taking place during each of the lunch periods today in the Guidance office.  This 30 minute session will cover college applications and will give you the chance to find out more about opportunities, schools and programs at Ontario Colleges.


·         There will be a Book Club meeting tomorrow after school in the Library.


·         Ignite will be having a meeting today after school in room 197 at 3:00.  We welcome everyone to come and enjoy food, fun and an opportunity to learn more about Christianity.


·         A reminder to all those that have registered to write the Waterloo Intermediate or Senior Mathematics contest;   that it will be written tomorrow in room 216 during periods 3 and 4.

The OT Model United Nations Club competed over the last four days at the Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium in Montreal.  Congratulations to the team for their fantastic performance and hard work.  Special congratulations go out to Navya Sheth, Urmi Sheth, Xander Don-Wauchope and Ian Greer for winning awards in their committees

·         There will be an Intermediate Reach meeting today after school in room 220.  If you plan to compete, all forms must be signed, paid and returned for today’s meeting.


·         Today is the last day of the Entrepreneur Expo, to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship week.  Come down to the atrium periods 3 & 4 to support your fellow OT students.  All proceeds will go to charity.


·         The last two days our Varsity boys hockey traveled to Burlington to participate in the Wave Invitational.  On Tuesday the team defeated Blakelock 5-2, Sherwood High School from Hamilton 3-0 and Craig Keilberger 3-1 to capture first place in their pool and a trip to the semi-finals against Notre Dame.  On Wednesday it was a fast paced game with a number of big hits done by both sides.  At the end of regulation the game was all tied up 1-1.  The five minute over- time solved nothing so they went to a shoot-out.  It went to the sixth shooter with Notre Dame being the winner.  The boys did very well in pre- season going 6-1.

·         For people who missed yesterday’s meeting for the OT Skills Club please see Mr Lamenta to get forms any time period 1 – 4.


·         Coffehouse is today!  Come out after school to watch some awesome performance and enjoy some free hot drinks and baked goods.


·         Do you like playing soccer?  Come to room 189 at the start of period 3 today to find out how you can improve your skills and have fun during your lunch.


·         It’s Thursday, which means Board Game Club is back.  Periods 3 & 4 in room 195.


·         To all Volunteer Outreach members:  we will be having a meeting this Friday in room 210.

·         Did you know that at 11 am, on the 11th day of the 11th  month, Canadians are supposed to stop what they are doing for a moment of silence?  We do this to show respect for all those who’ve fallen and fought for us in the line of duty.  Remember today is the last day to get your poppies and sign an “ I Remember” poppy or dove in the atrium during periods 3 & 4.  November 11th is tomorrow so come by and show your support for our veterans today.


·         Come out this Monday November 13th for Bullying Prevention Club.  It’s held in room 132 after school,  so come out and meet some good people.


·         Attention Design Club members:  there will be an important meeting today after school in room 173.


·         Thank you to all the girls showing interest in volleyball this year.  Try outs for senior girls volleyball will take place Tuesday at 3:00 in the gym.  Be sure to hand in your medical forms by then.


·         The ski and snowboard teams will be having their first dryland practices of the season starting next Tuesday after school in the fitness center.  Practices will continue Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Come prepared to workout.

·         Each month an athlete from our Red Devils’ sports team is recognized for their hard work, dedication and coachability.  Congratulations to the athletes of the month for October:  Junior Cross Country:  Kayli Beeton, Senior Cross Country:  Koyla Morita, Junior girls basketball:  Lauryn Chew, Senior girls basketball:  Anisha Rippie.  Please come down to the phys ed office at lunch today to have your picture taken.


·         A reminder that all girls interested in playing volleyball must attend the meeting at 3:00 today in room 237.


·         Attention all  you shower singers & carpool Karaoke stars:  come out for the concert choir rehearsal at 3:00 today in the vocal music room ( 168).  Everyone is welcome!


·         Do you want to earn volunteer hours, hang out with friends and help save children’s lives?  EveryChildNow is meeting today after school in room 234.  All members must be there to receive the committees and information on our campaign “ Hurricane Heroes”.


·         Congrats to all members of the OT Swim team for their stellar performance at the first meet of the year.

·         Did you know that the poppy tradition began when the noticeable red flower was seen growing over the graves of soldiers?  The significance of the poppy as a lasting memorial symbol to the fallen, was realized by the Canadian surgeon John McCrae in his poem “ In Flanders Fields.”  Don’t forget to continue to come by the Remembrance Day Campaign table in the atrium during periods 3 & 4 so you can sign the “ I Remember” poppies and doves, and buy poppies to show your support for our veterans.


·         There will be a meeting for anyone wishing to try out for the Junior boys basketball team today after school in the Health Room.  Please see Mr St Denis in the phys- ed office for details.


·         A reminder that the meeting for girls interested in playing volleyball is tomorrow after school in room 237.


·         Attention DECA members:  today’s meeting is for members in the finance, hospitality and entrepreneurship categories.  See you in room 237.


·         Yesterday your junior boys volleyball team faced off against Craig Kielberger in the Halton semi-finals.  With some dominant hitting by Matthew Tint and Nathan DeGroodt, plus some stellar serving from Luc Barnett-Wright, the boys maintained their undefeated record to advance to Halton Finals this Thursday.


·         Want to go support the junior boys volleyball team at the Halton Finals?  There will be one fan bus; leaving here at 9:15 am on Thursday.  The first 47 students to pay the fan bus fee on cashless will be reserved a ticket.  Permission forms need to be picked up at the main office and returned before bus departure.


·         Got a musical, theatre, comedic or other artistic talent?  Come show off  your skills at Coffeehouse next Thursday.  Sign- ups are at the RDC office, library and music room.
