·         Are you interested in joining OT’s Debate Club this year?  If so it’s not too late.  There will be a mandatory meeting today after school for all those wishing to join as well as all current members in room 118.

·         Are you a grade 9 student that has signed up for the Saint Donat, Quebec trip?  We will have a very brief meeting in room 210 after school today to discuss important details for the trip.  If you can’t make it see Ms Cho or Mme Durand.

 

·         OT’s  senior girls volleyball team won their first game yesterday against Kings in two straight  sets.  Shout out to Megan Carson and Alex Kinkartz for their excellent play.

 

·         Reach is back !  Practice today after school in room 220 for all those interested.

 

·         Varsity boys hockey game is CANCELLED for today.

·         Ivy School of Business representatives are coming to OT this Friday to deliver 2 application workshops during period 3 & 4 in room 104.  All grade 12 students interested in applying to the Advanced Early Offer – AEO- option to Ivy should attend.  Registration is required today or tomorrow.  Please sign up in person in guidance now, as space is limited.  Group and Individual advice about Ivy applications will be offered.

 

·         Board Game Club has been cancelled for today.  We will see you next week.

·         Attention DECA members:  there will be a meeting today in room 237.

 

·         Attention all ski and snowboard team members:  there is a quick meeting today after school in room 104 to go over the details for the on hill day this Friday.

 

·         Yesterday the Varsity boys hockey team traveled to Burlington to take on the Lords of Nelson. The game was a back and forth affair with the Devils missing a number of good chances but at the end of two periods they found themselves down 2-0.  The Devils were on the power play to start the third and scored on a point shot from Jack Creighton.  The Devils kept coming and scored two goals in the last 6 minutes to come away with the 3-2 victory.  Also scoring for the Devils was Alex Pain and Ryan Radovich.

 

·         Pine Glen rugby is cancelled today.

 

·         Yesterday the Varsity girls hockey team took on Iroquois Ridge.  Iroquois jumped out to an early lead which the girls were unable to recover from leading to their first regular season loss.  Congratulations to Brooke Westwater on her player of the game for strong play at both ends of the ice.

·         Today the varsity boys hockey team travels to Burlington to take on the Lords of Nelson.  Teachers please excuse the team at 1:40.

·         It’s Thursday which means Board Game Club is back.  Periods 3 & 4 in room 195.

 

·         Come to the atrium today during periods 3 & 4 for cup cake decorating booths and art show;  profits will be donated to charity.  Join us for a great cause this holiday season.

 

·         Yesterday the senior boys basketball team travelled to Aldershot to take on the undefeated Lions.  The team took an early lead and stuck to their game to push through to a nail biting 74-73 victory. 

 

·         Today is Devil’s Day and on top of that it’s the last day to buy candy grams for your friends.  Show how much you care for  your friend and buy them a candy gram or two before the end of period 4.  The Soldier On club will be handing out candy grams during period 5.

 

·         Burling Bowl has dropped off some free passes to use over the winter months.  If you  are interested come to the main office.

·         Yesterday the girls varsity hockey team took on M.M Robinson.  The girls came from behind to tie it up late in the third, resulting in a 4-4 tie.  Great job to Grace Stergiou for her well deserved goal and player of the game.

 

·         What’s the best possible holiday present?  A broken drum…you just can’t beat it!  Come to the atrium during periods 3 & 4 today for a Holiday Market, featuring an art gallery, handmade goods, holiday music and more.  Profits will go to charity.

 

·         Interact Club is welcoming you to come out to our event today period 3 & 4.  You will get a chance to take a picture with Santa for just a loonie. 

 

·         Yesterday our Varsity boys hockey team traveled to Glen Abbey Arena to take on the Chargers of Garth Webb.  It was a fast paced game with both teams having good chances and at  the end of two periods it was all tied up 1-1.  The Devils came out fast and took over the third period on their way to a 4-1 victory.  Scoring for the Devils was Jake “ the snake” Howden, Liam “ shotgun” Swanek, David “ the hamburglar” Hamburg and Jack “ I hope to take a penalty shot one day “ Creighton.  In Goal was Keiran “ the brick wall” Drover.  Congrats on finishing the first half of the season undefeated and in first in Halton.

 

·         Remember tomorrow is your Last and Final day to buy candy grams.  The Soldier On Club will be selling them in the atrium during periods 3 & 4 once again for the last time.

·         A lost and found table has been set up outside the main office, if you have lost anything please stop by.

 

·         Interact Club is welcoming you to come out to our event this Wednesday periods 3 & 4.  You will get a chance to take a picture with Santa for just a loonie.  There will be candy canes as well.  See you there.

 

·         Attention students who are taking Visual Arts, Music, Drama & Comm Tech this year:  that includes next semester.  Interested in going to New York City?  Big Apple? Central Park? Broadway?  There will be a parent meeting Thursday Jan 11th at 7 PM in the Library.  Speak to your teacher to get info about activities.

·         Open Improv Club meets today after school in the theatre.  This is our last meeting before the holidays.  New members always welcome.

·         PSAT scores are in!  Did you write the PSAT this fall?  Please come to guidance today to pick up your score report.

 

·         Come by the atrium during periods 3 & 4 on the 19th, 20th and 21st to buy and make cards that will be donated to the local soup kitchen.

 

·         Attention designers:  we will be having our last meeting for 2017 today in room 173.  Come by and celebrate our accomplishments.

 

·         Do you know what to get your friends for Christmas?  The Soldier On Club can help you with that.  Candy grams are always a great way to surprise your friends and they are being sold in the atrium during periods 3 & 4 today and next week.

 

·         Attention students who are taking Visual Arts, Music, Drama & Comm Tech this year:  that includes next semester.  Interested in going to New York City?  The Big Apple?  Central Park? Broadway?  There will be a parent meeting Tuesday December 19th at 7 PM in the Library.  Speak to your teacher to get info about activities.

 

·         Are you looking for a job but don’t have a resume or interview skills?  Goodwill Career Center can help you with that.  On Wednesday December 20th from 3-5 pm come down to the Goodwill Career Center in the Trafalgar Ridge Plaza for an info session on resume help and job leads.  Free pizza and pop will be provided to everyone who shows up and you’ll leave with a head start on your job search.  See Guidance News Facebook group for more details.

 

·         On Monday the girls Varsity hockey team took on the Eagles of Abby Park.   It was a close game but in the end the girls came out on top with a 1-0 win.  Well done to Prachi Kapur for her shutout and Julia Rego for the player of the game.  Goal by Ainsley Morrison.

 

·         Tuesday was the first tournament of the girls hockey season.  The first game was a tough one, unfortunately the girls were unable to pull off the win.  Congratulations to Katherine Muschett on Player of the Game.  The second game  resulted in a 2-1 win for the girls.  Well done to Alex Levert on Player of the Game.  Goals by Alex Levert and Kristen Akey.  The third game of the day was once again a hard fought battle ending in a 2-2 tie.  Congrats to Robyn Jeffries for the Player of the Game.  Goals by Ainsley Morrison.
