·         If you applied for a Courtesy Seat please come to main office during your lunch or at the end of the day for information.

 

·         The Free the Children We Scare Hunger sign up / information booth will now be in the atrium periods 3 & 4 today.  Come out to help stop hunger in Oakville.

 

·         All boys interested in trying out for the senior boys basketball team:  there will be a brief meeting on Tuesday October 25th at 2:55 in room 153.

 

·         Students that were invited but not able to attend last night’s Excellence Evening can pick up their awards from the main office.

 

·         The junior field hockey team played in the quarter finals yesterday against Loyola.  The girls fought hard but unfortunately lost 2-1 with the goal scored by Meredith Steven.  Overall, the junior girls had an outstanding field hockey season!

 

·         On Wednesday our junior boys volleyball team faced off against Kielberger in an epic rematch.  The Spartans proved no match for the incandescent setting of Luc Barnett-Wright and the combined killing power of Matthew Tint.  Jack Maitland and Kyle Jickling.  In the second set the equally dangerous second string continued to show how the Devils rock the court with a second set win.

 

·         Relay for Life Committees have been chosen.  If you applied to be on a Relay committee go check the blue and yellow board beside the main stairs to see what committee you are on.  Committee chairs have also contacted you by email and /or Facebook.  If you have any questions/ concerns please contact your committee chair.

 

·         Drop off your items for the October 29th Garage Sale today.  Donate your items during periods 1 and 2 and from 2:30 – 3:30 pm.  Support Relay and help find a cure for cancer.  For more details about our event check the posters around the school.

 

·         If you are in grade 11 or 12 student who wants some help with Physics problems or just want to have a great time, come to the Physics Club / workgroup this afternoon in room 221. 

 

·         Congratulations to the OTHS cross country team for a strong finish at the pre- GHAC race.  Shout out to Soren Zamuner and Sidney Pearson for finishing 8th overall in their division.

 

·         It’s Friday, which means Board Game Club is back.  Periods 3 & 4 in room 181.

 

·         If you are coming on the Music Retreat this weekend you must meet at the front of the school Saturday at 7:30 AM.

 

·         The senior girls field hockey team were defeated from action in the playoffs yesterday by Blakelock.  The team had a very successful season finishing with an overall record of 15 wins, 3 losses, and 4 ties.  The team captains Emma Hawkswell and Jordan Somers led the team all season.  Other graduating seniors are Jackie Carlson, Diana Gauthier, Victoria Leonard, Annie Matcham, Sophia Pallota, Alex Sacha, Julia Simpson and Anne-Sophie Sraka.  Coaches Groen and Lavery are very proud of the way the team competed all season.
