·         Yesterday the Junior girls basketball team hosted the Nelson Lords.  Our Devils got off to a great start and they kept their positive momentum going until the final whistle, earning themselves a 52-22 win.  Defensive mentions go to Tatum Martino, Megan Spiller and Aimen Habib.  OT’s top scorers were Kaitlyn Ritz with 6 points, Sarah Malone with 18 and Sophie Gilbert with 14.  Excellent team effort Devils.

 

·         Are you looking for volunteer hours?  James W Hill is looking for volunteers for their Fall Fair October 19th from 9 -3.  If you are interested there is a sign- up sheet in the main office.

 

·         Are you looking to improve  your public speaking?  Want to debate whether the Earth is flat, cats are better than dogs, or if felons should be able to vote?  If so come join OT’s Debate Society;   first meeting is  Monday in room 189 A.  Beginners and experienced welcome.

 

·         Thanks you to everyone who applied to DECA this year.  If you applied to be a member of OT’s 2019-2020 DECA  team, please check your Halton email address this Sunday to find out if you have made the team.

 

·         Do you want to spend a month living and learning at a University campus such as UBC, UNB and the University of Waterloo next summer?  Do you want o explore STEM & Entrepreneurship through hands on, experiential learning?  Then you should come check out  the SHAD summer enrichment program.  Learn how  you can explore Canada, gain leadership skills and meet like -minded leaders from across the country at the SHAD Info Session taking place after school on Friday September 27th in the cafeteria.  Session is open to those in grades 10 & 11.

 

·         Congratulations to the Varsity girls field hockey team.  They won their first 2 league games against Garth Webb and MMR.  They also dominated at the Revamp Tournament.  Awesome plays by both goalies Hilary Godbout and Fiona Gervin for their shut outs.
