·         Attention grade 9’s and Link Leaders:  today during period 5 is the annual Link Scavenger Hunt.  Teachers listen for an announcement at the start of period 5.

·         There will be a Reach practice today after school in room 220.  New members welcome.

·         Yesterday the OT Football team opened it’s season against the Milton Mustangs.  It was a hard fought game with the score at 0-O at half time.  Tian Pretorius and Judhis Lily provided lots of running on offense and Chris Barnes and Jack Kanalec each had key interceptions  on Defence.  With 40 seconds left in the game OT tied up the game on a touchdown by Judhis Lily.  Unfortunately with 12 seconds left Milton scored to win the game.

·         Research in Alberta indicated that 78 percent of children who have died in foster care between 1999 and 2013 were aboriginal.  Before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, there was no effort to record the number of students  who died.  The residential schools remain a dark stain on Canada’s history.  Thank you for joining us today in wearing orange to commemorate the deaths and survivors of residential schools.

·         If  you are interested in athletics and leadership you should join Athletic Council.  Our first meeting is Tuesday morning at 7:45 in the health room.
