·         It’s Monday which means Ping Pong Club is back.  After school in the cafeteria.

·         On Friday the junior girls volleyball team travelled to Milton for their final tournament of the season.  The girls went undefeated all day long, ultimately bringing home the championship.  Tournament MVP goes to Paula Goldie for her spectacular 8 point serving run in the deciding set against Georgetown.

·         The snowboarders had a great day on the slopes with 8 athletes qualifying for OFSSAA.  The girls team led the way coming first place as a team with Hannah Reidy and Olivia Neary-Hatton coming first and second as individuals.  The skiers dominated with both the open boys and girls teams winning their divisions.  The high school boys team missed out on first place by only one point. Griffin Elsley, with his first place finish, qualified as an individual and will join the two winning teams in Collingwood for OFSSAA.  Well done skiers and boards and good luck at OFSSAA.

·         Attention designers:  Design Club had a meeting scheduled for Friday the 16th but that is a PD day so it will be rescheduled.

·         There will be a brief meeting for junior girls rugby after school Tuesday Feb 13th in the fitness center.  Bring your signed forms.

·         This past weekend the Varsity boys hockey team participated in the York Canadian Classic Senior boys hockey tournament in Toronto.  On day one the boys dropped their opening game 3-1 to Chippewa SS from North Bay.  The boys second game of the day was a 4-4 draw against Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes SS.  This put the team in a tough spot and they needed to win their next two games to qualify for the finals and they did.  Defeating Etobicoke 5-0 and then 4-0 against Central Algoma Secondary.  This put the Devils in the finals against the same Bracebridge team for the day before.  The boys controlled most of the game but ran out of steam late in the game and dropped a 3-2 decision.  Great job boys on a great tournament.
