·         Boys soccer has their first tryout today at 3:30 pm at Pine Glen.  Please return your permission forms to Mr Landry or Ms Plata at lunch.

·         There will be a Table Tennis Club meeting today after school in the café.  There will be a workshop today with a special coach, past National player in Canada.  If you want to enhance your skills today is a chance that you don’t want to miss.

·         On Friday the OT Senior Jazz Ensemble travelled to Richmond Hill for the Music Alive Regional Jazz Competition.  This band worked very hard to improve their performance in all areas and their performance featured solos from Deven Kamra Lyons on the piano, Gillian Miller on alto sax, Michael Zhang on alto sax and David Sun on the drums.  This groups’ hard work was rewarded by winning gold and being invited to compete at Nationals in May.

·         On Friday, OT competed in the Halton ECOO board wide programming contest.  This was our first time entering this contest, competing against 29 other teams, and the boys did a great job finishing in 3rd place and advancing to the next round.  Congratulations to Luke, Jonah, Jack and Rico for their excellent teamwork and results.

·         Did you know that colorectal cancer makes up 13% of new cancer cases each year?  Did you also know that it is estimated that 1 in 13 men and 1 in 16 women will develop colorectal cancer in their lifetime?  March is colorectal cancer awareness month and the awareness committee would like to extend their support to anyone who has been affected by colorectal cancer and cancer in general.

·         Last Friday, 24 teams participated in an OT math team contest.  Congratulations to the following 5 teams for qualifying for the Appleby competition;  Harry Jin, Leo Li and Winston Zhang;   Andrew Ye, Kevin Zhao and Neil Zhou;  Irene Zhou, Jane Lu and Melissa Meng;  David Hu, Randolph Zhang and Grace Ren and Aaru Chandra, Sawyer Bovingdon and Devyn Zhu.
