·         Did you know it is National Mental Health week?  1/5 of young people suffer from a mental illness?  This week improve on your mental health by listening to music, exercising and socializing with friends.

 

·         Attention all students in Debate and Model UN:  Photo Day for the yearbook is scheduled for this Wednesday after school in the atrium.

 

·         There will be a representative from Guelph University in the atrium from 11:45 – 12:45 to give out information and answer questions.

 

·         Already finished fundraising by cash and cheques for Relay?  Then you should come to Bank Days to have your donations collected.  Open during periods 3 & 4 in room 136, Monday – Wednesday during the first three weeks of May.

 

·         Come out to Relay’s last fundraiser of the year at b-good on Cornwall on Tuesday May 9.  30% of the sales made between 6 -9 pm will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society.  There will be a Luminary and Daffodil pin sales being held as well so come out and show your support.

 

·         Congratulations to Mr Murphy and the Leadership class for hosting a successful event for a group of grade 8 students last Thursday.  Members of the class showed their ability to organize and deliver a positive and fun filled afternoon, demonstrating their strong teamwork and supportive roles in the OT environment.  Excellent job!

 

·         As a kick off to mental health week there will be many fun and relaxing activities taking place in the atrium during periods 3 & 4 today.  Come by to play some games, have a cup of tea, make a stress ball and colour some beautiful pictures.

 

·         There will not be a Concert Choir rehearsal today after school, but there will be a rehearsal Wednesday during period 4 for anyone available.

 

·         The Varsity boys baseball team opened up their season last Thursday with a 8-4 win over the Frank Hayden Huskies.  Robbie Gauthier and Nick Jaeggin led the way offensively combining for 5 hits and 4 runs scored.

 

·         On Thursday the Senior girls rugby team dominated the Lakeshore Catholic Invitational tournament, going 6-0 on the day and outscoring opponents 195-5 and winning both sides of the tournament bracket.  Outstanding work ladies!.

 

·         There will be a brief but important mandatory meeting for everyone on the track team, today after school in room 211.  We will be discussing all the important details for this Thursday’s meet.
