·         Reminder to all Soldier ON members that the meeting after school will take place in room 204.


·         On Friday OT’s Debate team travelled to Abbey Park for their first debate tournament of the year.  Navya Sheth, Urmi Sheth, India Lawrence, Akanksha Pahargarh, Sean Abboud and Lindsey Zhang had a great tournament.  A special congratulations to India and Akanksha who placed 3rd overall as a team and India Lawrence who placed first as a speaker. 


·         Did you know that almost 10% of families in Oakville can’t always afford nutritious food?  You can help these families in our community by supporting the Free Children annual  We Scare Hunger Campaign.  We encourage you to bring any non-perishable food items and used batteries to the Free the Children table by the atrium before October 31st.


·         Are you excited for this year’s Relay?  Would you like to help plan the biggest event this school year.  Then come out to the Relay Committee member information meeting after school tomorrow, Oct 30th in the library.


·         Attention DECA members:  we will be having a mandatory meeting to write the multiple choice exam this Wednesday after school.  There will be no morning meeting this week.


·         Anyone who is interested in joining a String Ensemble; there will be a meeting after school Tuesday in room 168.


·         The drama students of grade 11 invite you down to the atrium, periods 3 & 4 to write down your thoughts on a symbolic poppy in honour of Remembrance Day.


·         Do you want to help support the fight for cancer while supporting OT’s football team and missing the end of 3rd and beginning of 4th period?  Come out to the pink game for breast cancer awareness this Thursday at 11:30.  Tickets are being sold during 3rd and 4th period on Tuesday and Wednesday for a toonie in the atrium.  All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Don’t forget to wear PINK!


·         Shout out to the senior boys volleyball team for their win over Garth Webb on Thursday and their hard –fought quarter final loss on Friday at the Hayden tournament.  Incredible day setting for Luc Barnett- Wright and smart attacking by Kyle Jickling.  Quarter finals are at home on Wednesday.


·         Over the weekend, 11 Jewish worshippers were killed by a gunman in a synagogue in Pittsburgh.  Words cannot express how saddened we are for this violent act of hatred.  We grieve together with the Jewish community and we are reminded to always speak out against any form of hatred.
