  • Congratulations to the athletes of the month for September:

Golf:  Amanda He,  Junior Field Hockey:  Gillian Groth and Senior Field Hockey:  Kate Chalmers.

  • Last Tuesday the Sr Field Hockey team traveled to Corpus Christi to face the Longhorns.  Jordan Somers scored the winning goal earning the Devil’s 1-0 victory.  Special mention goes to Jackie Carlson the player of the game.

  • Last Thursday the girls traveled to Holy Trinity to face the Titans and came out victorious with a 5-0 win.  Amanda Grice, Anne-Sophie Sraka, Alex Sacha and captains Lauren Waldbillig and Melis Atalay who scored goals.  Special  mention goes to Melis Atalay the player of the game.

  • Last Friday the girls competed in a tournament at McMaster University and won undefeated without a single goal scored against them.

  • There will be a Free the Children meeting tomorrow after school in room 190.

  • All boys interested in playing hockey for the school hockey team this year are asked to attend a short but important meeting tomorrow October 6 at 2:50 in room 153.

  • OT’s Jr girls basketball team fought hard in the Frank Hayden tournament last Friday.  The girls struggled offensively in their first two games but pulled it together and won their last two games of the day.  Sarah Rosenzweig, Chelsea Coderre and Kelly Hubbs controlled the boards and Allison Prahin led with steals.  The team all contributed to the point total but Anisha Rippie led the team and had a couple of 3’s.

  • Attention all grade 9, 10 and 11 girls.  McMaster University will be hosting the annual “You Go Eng Girl”  event on Saturday October 17th.  The program includes activities that showcase the wide range of undergraduate programs and careers that are available in engineering.  You will meet role models, participate in hands on activities in small groups and learn about engineering.  Online registration is required and space is limited.  Se Mrs Bhatnagar for registration.

  • It was a wild week for the Sr boys volleyball team.  After two tough losses last week the boys went to the U of T tournament where they dominated in pool play, finishing first only to be eliminated in a tight semi-final game.  Kudos to the whole team for solid team play but special mention should go to Jay McNeill for playing with previously unseen fire and power.

  • If you are attending the Honduras Trip in March of 2016 please contact Mr Fotheringham to let him know when you will be doing your fitness test next week.
