·         It’s Thursday which means Board Game Club is back.  Periods 3 & 4 in room 195.

·         DECA is hosting a special guest speaker, Mark Tsou, next Wednesday after school in the cafeteria.  Mark is a business developer at Siemens Canada, a fortune 500 engineering company.  He will offer a session jam packed with insights such as, how your interests can help you choose a career you love, what he wishes he would have known when he was in high school and why soft skills are important for career advancement.  This is a one -time opportunity to interact with a business professional who has been through the challenges and questions that you may be facing, in terms of post- secondary and  choosing  your career path.  Please come out next Wednesday in the café to hear Mark speak.

·         Do you want to earn some volunteer hours this semester?  Do you want to have fun with  your friends?  What about helping save a child’s life and learning new skills?  If so, come today after school to room 234 for Every Child Now’s meeting for Skate it up.  New members welcome.

·         Last night the Senior boys  basketball team competed against the top seeded team from Milton District.  Our team played a spectacular game and made Milton fight for every point but ultimately lost 55 – 50.  The school should be proud of how you represented us.  Thanks for a fantastic season.

·         Yesterday the Varsity girls hockey team went to Burlington to participate in the Queen of Hearts tournament.  They faced tough competition from teams from Mississauga, Simcoe and Burlington.  Unfortunately the girls did not advance to the finals.  Outstanding performances by the defence Hope Rieckelman and Rachel Draper.  With Jacey Vi piling on the offensive pressure.  All earning well deserved Player of the game awards.  Shout out to Prachi Kapur for her phenomenal saves in net.

·         At the moment 60% of OT students have completed their course selections for next year.  Guidance is setting up a “pop-up” outside of Guidance during the lunch periods today.  If you want to enter your selections into My Blueprint under the supervision and with help from Guidance counsellors then come to the pop-up in the hall outside Guidance today.  Remember that all students must enter their course selections for next year into My Blueprint by Monday at 6 PM.   There are also still over 100 grade 12 students that haven’t entered “ Not Returning” into My Blueprint.
