·         Today is the last day to sign up for the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge, the first math contest of the year.  Registration is on School Cash Online.  Come to Math Club tomorrow after school in room 216 for food , prizes and to prepare for this contest.


·         Come to the Computer Science Club after school today in room 125.  We will discuss advanced programming concepts and also compete in computing competitions.


·         Yesterday our senior girls basketball team faced off against Burlington Central.  The Devils got off to a slow start losing 12-2 after the first quarter.  The girls fought hard to tie the score with less than two minutes remaining.  With only a few seconds left, Kelly Hubbs scored to take the lead.  After a nail biting game the Devils came out on top winning 27-26.  Special shout outs go to Izzy Marchetti for her aggressive defense, Molly Giffen for her great shooting, Lucy Edgar for running the point and to Emilie Demers and Kelly Hubbs for their leadership on the court.


·         It’s Thursday which means Board Game Club is back, period 3 in room 198.


·         Are you interested in joining the swim team?  There will be a brief meeting today after school in room 195.


·         The October issue of the Devil’s Advocate, OT’s favourite newspaper is out.  Get your free copy from the library today.


·         Attention music students:  Do you want to go on a trip to Chicago this May?  There is a student and Parent information meeting tonight in the library at 7:00 pm.


·         The junior girls basketball team hosted the Wild from Robert Bateman in league action yesterday.  The Devils had a slow start but found their shot in the second quarter and kept up their intensity on defense until the final whistle which resulted in a 36-5 win.  Top scorers were Kaitlyn Ruetz, Kyra Holzscherer and Aimen Habib.  Defensive mentions go to Sabrina Edwards and Emma Pont.


·         Attention music students:  tomorrow is the last day to register and pay for the Music Retreat happening next weekend.  Pay online and fill out the forms that are hanging outside the music room.


·         Yesterday the senior girls field hockey team played two outstanding games.  They took the lead early on in their first game against Georgetown and kept the effort up all the way to the end winning 6-0.  Goals were scored by Kristen, Ella, Erica, Caitlin and Izzy.  The girls stayed strong throughout the second game against MM Robinson giving it their all and coming out on top 4-0.  Goals were scored by Kristen, Katie and Luisa.
