·         Did you know that 19.2% of food banks in Canada ran out of nutritious food items in March 2012?  You can help prevent this from happening again.  Free the Children’s annual We Scare Hunger Campaign needs your help.  From today until the 31st we encourage you to bring in any non-perishable food items and used batteries to be dropped off at the Free the Children table by the atrium.

·         On Wednesday the Cross Country team participated in GHAC at Hilton Falls in Milton.  Midget Girls finished 2nd Public School Overall as a team and Jr boys finished 2nd Public School Overall as a team.  OT finished 2nd overall for Public Schools.  Top OTHS finishers Midget Girls- Paris Jackson, Midget Boys- Ryan Gambrell, Jr Girls- Lauren Burnham, Jr Boys- Sawyer Bovingdon, Sr Girls- Rachel DonWauchope, Sr boys- Kieran Bovingdon.

·         Are you excited for this year’s Relay?  Would like to help plan the biggest event of this school year.  Then come out to the Relay committee member information meeting after school on Tuesday October 30th in the library.

·         October is breast cancer awareness month.  Buy a ticket to the football game next week and wear pink.

·         Grade 12 students:  if you haven’t already heard PIN numbers are in.  All grade 12 students applying to University or College must come to guidance to sign up for an information session.  You cannot apply to  a university in Ontario without a PIN.  All sessions are running next week.  There are separate sessions for College and university applications.

·         Yesterday the Varsity football team hosted TA Blakelock on our back field.  The game started out close with Blakelock scoring a field goal early to start the game with the lead.  Leo Caven kicked a field goal for OT to tie the game.  OT got stronger as the game went on as Judhis Lily threw a touchdown passes to Simon Davis and Max Gilbert and the defense stifled the Blakelock offense.  With less than 2 minutes left Judhis Lily rushed in for a touchdown to seal the 25-9 victory for OT.  Next week we host the Milton mustangs for our last regular season game.
