·         Interested in the creative process of the One Act Drama Festival?  Drama club will be meeting today after school.  A special meeting will be held on Wednesday for those who cannot make the regular meeting.  Please meet in the theater.  If  you have any questions please talk to Ms Cheeko.

 

·         Baking Club will be holding a quick meeting after school.  Everyone welcome.

 

·         The Junior field hockey team put up a tough fight against MM Robinson yesterday with an early goal from Hannah Birch but sadly they lost 2-1 in the quarter finals.  Shout out to both goalies Fiona and Maddie for protecting the net all season long.

 

·         Business SHSM will meet today after school for a mandatory meeting in room 237.  This meeting will be quick and is only for Business SHSM students.

 

·         Yesterday the Junior girls basketball team hosted MM Robinson.  Our Devils played very well defensively and held their opponents to scoring only 4 baskets against them in the game which resulted in a 29 – 10 win for our Devils.  Top scorers for OT were Sophie Gilbert and Kyra Holzscherer.  Defensive mentions go to Kaitlyn Ruetz, Sarah Malone and Sabrina Edwards.

 

·         There will be a 10 minute meeting of Free the Children after school today in room 190 for people who want flyers for We Scare Hunger and people who want to ask questions about the campaign.

 

·         The Duke of Ed meeting originally scheduled for today will be taking place this Friday in room 195.  All members and prospective members are encouraged to come out on Friday at the start of each of the lunch periods.

 

·         Are you interested in leadership opportunities and training?  Why not sign up for the Ontario Student Leadership Conference?  The OSLC is a 3 – day conference in Niagara Falls from November 4th to 6th.  This year’s theme is Elevate:  Seek your Summit” bringing together the best variety of thought leaders, entertainers, speakers and educators who take the time to meet, teach and speak with you.  The conference is currently sold out, but the OTHS has secured 20 spots.  Students from all grades are welcome to apply but students from grades 10 – 11 are preferred as we want to ensure that the skills, motivation, ideas and energy acquired at the conference gets put to good use at OTHS for years to come.  If  you are interested please see Ms King or Mr Perera in the Math and Science office ( room 213)
