·         Music students; if you purchased concert tickets please pick them up today from Mr Clarke or Ms Socha.


·         The rate of suicide among Aboriginal youth is 5 -6 times higher than the national average.  Remember to support the SOS club’s mission to help Aboriginal youth by bringing school supplies, hats and gloves and other small items to your period 3 or 4 class.


·         Attention students in Debate and Model UN:  Come for a club picture after school in the atrium today.


·         There will be an important and exciting meeting for members of the Board Game Club in room 189B at the end of period 3 and the beginning of periods 4.


·         Attention Relay team captains:  there is a meeting period 3 & 4 in room 193.  Bring your laptops if you have them, and your team packages we handed out during our first meeting.


·         Come out and support Relay for Life by going to b-good on Tuesday May 9th between 6 and 9 pm.  Luminaries and Daffodils will be sold and 30% of the proceeds go towards the Canadian Cancer Society.  We need  your help so come out to our last fundraiser for this year.


·         If you’ve finished fundraising for Relay and have your minimum amount of $125 then come down and deposit  your money on Bank Days.  Come to room 136 periods 3 & 4 to get  your relay money collected.


·         Rotary Leadership Camp:  two OT students will be selected to attend this  3 day camp for students currently in grade 9 and 10 taking place Sept 15-17, 2017.  Candidates should show strong leadership potential and have good communications skills.  Students interested in being considered should submit a one page letter indicating their interest and experience to the guidance office by this Friday May 5th.


·         If you are interested in applying for a co-op placement at St Mike’s Hospital see Mrs Stearns-Brown in room 136 ASAP.


·         A big congratulations to Carter Lockbaum, Chad Nadin, Dave Hayman and Kieran Thompson on a strong performance at  the Ontario Skills Competition.  Over two days the team worked hard to craft a shed that displayed their wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail.  Great work!


·         Please help me in congratulating OT’s inaugural Mock Trial Society on an excellent season.  Yesterday at the Halton Public and Catholic Mock Trial tournament the team finished a very impressive 2nd place.  If you see Javan Jiang, Sabrina Jiang, Xander Don-Wauchope, Ivana Petkova, Andrea Jasko and Jennifer Ge take a moment to congratulate them on a job well done
