Student Extra Help

Oakville Trafalgar High School is committed to student success and has many supports in place for students that may struggle or just need some extra help.

  • Teacher Help - Early in the semester teachers make their students aware of their availability for extra help and the supports available for students in their class.

  • Math Clinic - Our math clinics are staffed during the lunch hours by Teachers. This service is provided as additional support for any students that have a question or need something explained. Students should inquire with their math teacher about the location and time of the Math Clinic.

  • Online Math Help - TheHomework Help Program for students features free on-line confidential one-on-one help in mathematics for students in grades 9 and 10. It is available Sunday through Thursday from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Visit https://homeworkhelp.ilc.org to register.

  • Student Success - Students can visit room 137 and check for availability for a quiet place to work, complete a missed test, get extra help or support in their classes. In addition, room 216 (Academic Support for Math, Science, English and Moderns). The teachers in these rooms are very supportive and willing to go the extra mile to help students.

  • Student/Adult Tutors - Each fall, the Guidance department accepts applications from senior students interested in tutoring. This information is compiled and made available in the Guidance office for students and parents. Adult tutors and outside tutoring services that provide the Guidance Department with information about their services have their information compiled in a binder. The binder with available tutors is kept in the Guidance office. We do not endorse any particular tutor or service and would suggest that parents screen tutors before making a hiring decision.
